Singularity Summit 09 - NYC

A packed hall - brilliant people. I am listening to a speech about how our brains find patterns and how things become interesting when we can relate to things. As our brains see patterns, we can compress the information. For example, once we know what a face is we can store other faces more simply in our mind, and by being compressed we almost automatically predict the rest of a face when we see part of a face.

This morning we heard about brain emulations
, hierarchical perception systems, what a super intelligent AI might be like.
